Elevation Church is passionate about church planting. We are creating disciples who create disciples. And when you have disciples of Jesus you have a church. Disciples feed the hungry and go about lives being the awesome God wants to see in the world. New church plants mean disciples. That means we're in the business of resourcing and planting churches who plant churches.
We voluntarily set aside 10% of our internal giving to church planting activities, we host a church planting intern/resident and (usually once per month) we welcome in church planters or potential church planters to preach. In all these things, we lean toward missional, gospel-centered churches who are rooted in their neighborhoods.
Follow all that?
We are full members of Acts 29, a diverse, global network of over 700 church planting churches.
Tim Keller offers this powerful explanation:
"The vigorous, continual planting of new congregations is the single most crucial strategy for 1) the numerical growth of the Body of Christ in any city, and 2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of the existing churches in a city. Nothing else--not crusades, outreach programs, para-church ministries, growing mega-churches, congregational consulting, nor church renewal processes--will have the consistent impact of dynamic, extensive church planting. This is an eyebrow raising statement. But to those who have done any study at all, it is not even controversial."
